Aiyerin Sets the Record Straight: No Interest in Okitipupa Chairmanship

Pastor Olusegun Aiyerin, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative Services in Ondo State, has firmly rejected speculation regarding his candidacy for the Chairmanship of Okitipupa Local Government in the upcoming January 18, 2024 elections.

During a meeting with aspiring candidates and party members at his residence in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, Pastor Aiyerin labeled the rumours as unfounded and a product of those seeking to create distractions.

He called out the purveyors of these false narratives, stating, “I have no desire to return to a position I once held with honour.”

The honourable Commissioner reflected on his previous term as Chairman under Former Governor Olusegun Agagu, highlighting that his leadership was marked by significant achievements, including the accolade of being the best-managed local government in Nigeria at that time.

He further expressed his contentment with his current role as Commissioner, asserting, “Running for the chairmanship would represent a regression in my advancing career.”
