Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa revealed that the new High Court Complex, set to be completed in 48 weeks, will bear the name of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
During the ceremony marking the project’s start, Aiyedatiwa celebrated the development as a major achievement for the state.
He emphasized his administration’s dedication to improving the judicial system and providing a better environment for judicial staff.
The complex, conceived during Akeredolu’s tenure, will include several modern features, such as ceremonial and modular courts, a registry, library, exhibition space, utility building, and parking facilities.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that, since the state’s creation in 1976, no such project had been undertaken, making this a historic moment.
He also expressed that despite financial challenges, the project was a priority to support the judiciary and improve justice delivery in Ondo State.
The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, praised the project for its potential to bring the state’s judiciary up to international standards.
