By: Bayero Ade

The Ondo State Government has declared a dawn-to-dusk curfew in Owo following violent cult clashes that have resulted in the loss of lives and heightened security concerns.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa announced the curfew on Monday, January 6, 2025, as a measure to curb the ongoing crisis and restore peace to the affected community.

Residents are required to remain indoors during the curfew, with exemptions granted only to essential services, including hospitals, emergency responders, and law enforcement personnel.

The Governor has directed security agencies to enforce the curfew, protect lives and property, apprehend those responsible for the violence, and ensure calm is restored in the area.
