Armed assailants, believed to be kidnappers, have invaded the Chikakore area of Kubwa in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, abducting a man, his wife, son, and two others from their residence.
A local resident reported to our correspondent that approximately 30 kidnappers, armed with AK-47 rifles, stormed the community around midnight on Monday. They targeted the home of Adefija Micheal Akinropo, where he was taken along with his wife, son, and elder brother.
The resident, who is familiar with the victims, further disclosed that the kidnappers moved to another building housing a poultry farm, where they abducted another man and injured his wife in the process.
Authorities from the Byazin police station have reportedly visited the scene, but the kidnappers have yet to reach out to the family members of the abducted individuals.
When contacted for comments, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Josephine Adeh, stated she was en route to the office and assured our reporter that she would return the call once she arrived. However, as of the time this report was filed, she had not yet responded.
