Adeleke Urges Osun Indigenes in Ondo to Vote Against APC in Upcoming Election

By Miracle Ogunde

In a strong display of support for Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ondo State governorship election, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, called on Osun indigenes residing in Ondo to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the November 16 elections.

Adeleke took the lead in Ajayi’s campaign rally in the Odigbo local government area, engaging with Osun indigenes in Kajola and other communities where he expressed his full endorsement of Ajayi, praising his extensive political experience.

Highlighting Ajayi’s prior accomplishments as deputy governor and member of the House of Representatives, Adeleke, on Tuesday, assured the crowd that if elected, Ajayi would bring similar successes to Ondo State as he (Adeleke) has done in Osun State.

“We have made significant strides in Osun across various sectors—economy, health, infrastructure, and education. My administration has consistently paid salaries and cleared pension arrears. I promise that the same commitment will be extended to Ondo state, as I have brought progress to this sunshine state. With the arrival of light, darkness will dissipate. I urge you all to campaign vigorously for the PDP and share our vision for a better Ondo, just as we are doing in Oyo and Osun,” said Adeleke.

He added, “The PDP is a party of progress, and I am convinced that we can transform Ondo state’s future. I encourage you all to vote and ensure that you oversee the counting process. Stand firm and do not let intimidation deter you!”

Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Chairman of the Agboola Ajayi Campaign Council, expressed gratitude for Governor Adeleke’s presence and support for Ajayi, encouraging him to continue rallying support for their candidate.

“We are thankful to Governor Ademola Adeleke for his unwavering support for Ondo state and our candidate. We kindly ask that you continue to rally more support from Osun indigenes in Ondo,” Olafeso stated.

As Ajayi’s campaign tour progressed through the Odigbo/Ileoluji-Okeigbo Federal Constituency, he paid a visit to Oba (Dr.) Julius Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, the 31st Jegun Olu Ekun of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, accompanied by Governor Adeleke.

Ajayi reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing security in Ondo State and providing farming equipment to strengthen agriculture. He also pledged to implement free education at the primary and secondary levels, enabling students to compete globally.

He requested the royal father’s assistance in urging the community to refrain from violence before and during the election period.

Oba Adetimehin, recognizing Ajayi’s political achievements, offered prayers and counselled the people of Ondo State to thoughtfully reconsider their choices and vote wisely in light of the current circumstances in the country.
