Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God; Kemi Badenoch, UK Member of Parliament and Conservative Party Opposition Leader; and Tony Elumelu, Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), have been listed among the 100 Most Reputable Africans for 2025.
According to Vanguard, the list, released on Sunday by Reputation Poll International (RPI) in partnership with the Global Reputation Forum, highlights Africans making remarkable contributions in diverse fields, including technology, public service, sports, creative arts, academia, and environmental advocacy.
Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, also featured on the list for his leadership in national security, fostering collaboration among the country’s military, security, and intelligence agencies. His efforts have recently led to the successful rescue of several kidnapped victims in northern Nigeria.
According to RPI, the honorees were selected based on their ethical leadership, societal impact, and commitment to transformative projects. “This recognition celebrates African excellence and honors those who are shaping the continent’s future through innovation and progress,” the organizers stated.
Other Nigerians recognized include Dr. Paul Enenche, founder of Dunamis International Gospel Church; Cosmos Maduka, Chairman of Coscharis Motors; and Senator Gbemisola Saraki. While Adeboye and Enenche have been honored in the past, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, makes his debut appearance on the list.
Bala Wunti, Group General Manager of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), and gospel singer Osinachi Egbu, widely known as “Sinach,” were also acknowledged for their influence.
The list also includes prominent African leaders such as Ghana’s President-elect John Mahama, Benedict Oramah, President of Afrexim Bank, and Mo Ibrahim, a Sudanese-British entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Notable honorees include Gambia’s Isatou Ceesay, recognized for her innovative work in climate resilience and women’s empowerment through waste management, and South Africa’s Karen Matsiko, celebrated for her leadership in trade finance and sustainable development across sub-Saharan Africa.
Past editions of the list have featured prominent Nigerians such as former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Jennifer Douglas of Miyetti Law Firm, and Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri. Religious leaders like Pastor William Kumuyi of Deeper Christian Life Ministry and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide were also among previous honorees.
The 2025 list serves as a tribute to individuals who are driving meaningful change and solidifying Africa’s influence on the global stage.
