Popular Nigerian actress Angela Okorie has expressed her frustration and anger after her Samsung phone was stolen at a film set. Taking to Instagram, Okorie shared the painful experience, revealing that her phone, which featured a picture of her and her son as the screensaver, was taken from the hands of the event’s MC.
She explained that despite the clear image of her and her child on the phone’s display, the person who stole it has yet to come forward and return it, even after more than a week of searching. The actress expressed disbelief that such theft still happens in 2024.
In her post, Okorie vented her outrage: “While filming ‘Unholy Fantasy,’ someone stole my Samsung phone, with my son’s and my photo as the screensaver. The MC was holding the phone when it was taken. Over a week later, we’re still searching for it. Didn’t the thief see the photo of me and my son and think to return it? It’s cruel to steal from someone. I’m cursing the person who took my phone. You could’ve just returned it, but now you’ve stolen from the wrong person.”
She went on to say that even though she had lost all her contacts and content on the phone, she was grateful to be alive. Okorie added that she had prayed and received divine reassurance: “I lost everything on that phone, but I didn’t lose my life. God said to me, ‘Everything you’ve lost, I will double it,’ and I believe that.”
In her final words, she called on the thief to seek forgiveness: “If you are the one holding my phone, I pray you don’t die before the end of this year. Go and ask God for forgiveness.”
Okorie ended her post by humorously expressing relief that she was now back home and safe, urging others to be cautious of phone thieves in 2024.
