The Abuja High Court has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to release Alhaji Bello Bodejo, the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, who is currently in detention, pending his trial.

Justice Mohammed Zubairu, a vacation judge, issued the ruling after hearing an ex-parte motion presented by Bodejo’s lawyer, Reuben Atabo, SAN. The motion, filed on December 19 and marked M/16976/2024, sought the immediate release of Bodejo until the substantive case against him is resolved.

The court directed the Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, and the DSS Director-General, Mr. Adeola Ajayi, to grant Bodejo administrative bail without delay.

According to reports from Bodejo’s family, he was arrested on December 9 by soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 117 Battalion in Maliya, Nasarawa State. His lawyer revealed that Bodejo was initially held at the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) facility in Abuja before being transferred to DSS custody on December 18.
