Kizz Daniel announces break from music until 2026

The Nigerian music industry was thrown into shock this week as Afrobeats sensation, Kizz Daniel, announced an unexpected and extended hiatus from music, revealing plans to step away until 2026.

He made the revelation on his X account yesterday, November 16, 2024. In a heartfelt post, the Buga crooner cited personal reasons, expressing a need to reconnect with himself and recharge after years of relentless success.

He wrote, “After this, I will not drop anything again until 2026.”

This announcement comes on the heels of the recent loss of his mother-in-law to breast cancer.

“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her. Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he added.

The artist has recently garnered attention for his public displays of affection toward his wife, Anidugbe, on social media.

From posting romantic pictures to cleverly weaving their love story into promotions for his latest tracks, Kizz Daniel has made his personal life an extension of his artistry.

Kizz Daniel, known for global Afrobeats hits such as Buga, Cough, and Twe Twe, has dominated the scene with energetic performances and chart-topping tracks that have cemented his status as a household name.
