…Vows to tackle low voter turnout
The re-election campaign of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has taken a tech-savvy turn as the APC State Contact and Mobilisation Committee launches a digital mobilisation strategy aimed at securing a landslide victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The committee, led by Sir Prince Ademola Adegoroye as Chairman, with Hon. Otito Atikase (Co-Chairman South), Hon. Ade Adeogun (Co-Chairman North), and Alhaji Mallon Ogbaro (Secretary), held a crucial meeting on Saturday in Akure to strategise on the mobilisation of voters across the state.
According to a statement issued by Hon. Demola Ijabiyi and Fisayo Folarungbon for the Contact and Mobilisation Media team, the Planning Sub-Committee also allocated responsibilities to its 572 members to ensure the success of the campaign.
The committee expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa and pledged to justify the trust placed in them by delivering a coordinated and effective mobilisation strategy.
They also commended the Campaign Director-General, Hon. Abiola Makinde, affirming their belief in his capacity to lead the campaign to victory.
At the heart of their plan is a robust digital mobilisation strategy aimed at tackling Ondo State’s historically low voter turnout, which has hovered around 30% in past elections despite over a million registered voters.
The committee has set an ambitious target of increasing voter turnout from 340,000 in the last presidential election to 700,000 in the upcoming poll.
To achieve this, the committee has developed a mobile app for real-time monitoring and registration of pro-Aiyedatiwa voters. This tool will allow the team to track voter engagement across the state, with updates delivered minute by minute, ensuring no ward or unit is left behind.
With this technology-driven approach, the committee is confident that by November 16, they will have a clear indication of overwhelming support for Aiyedatiwa.
“We’re in a digital era, and we’re using technology to our advantage,” Prince Adegoroye said during the meeting.
“With our strategy, the APC will secure a landslide victory in the upcoming election.”
The committee also emphasised the need for synergy among all campaign structures, including collaboration at the ward and unit levels, to ensure a unified and focused mobilisation effort.
In attendance at the meeting were prominent APC figures such as Hon. Demola Ijabiyi, Rt. Hon. Barr. Kenneth Olawale, Rt. Hon. Dare Emiola, Rt. Hon. Samuel Aeroboye, Prince Sola Amodeni, Chief Olabisi Johnson, Hon. Fatai Olotu, and Hon. Rotimi Agbede, among others.
