Aiyedatiwa Allegedly Awards N775m for Government House Gate, Fence Remodelling Ahead of Election

The award of N775million for the remodeling of main gate and perimeter fence of the Ondo State Government House in Akure by the Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration is currently generating controversy within the state.

A document seen by SaharaReporters showed that the State Executive Council led by the governor on September 26, 2024 approved the total sum of N775,069,741:21 for the proposed project.

The contract was awarded to a company named Buonayanett limited.

Checks by SaharaReporters showed the company has no presence online nor linked to any past project in the country.

However, the cost for the project is generating controversy.

One of those questioning the cost is a lawyer and activist from the state, Kayode Mogbojuri.

Kayode in a post on Facebook said, “Mr. Aiyedatiwa reportedly awarded approximately N800M for the remodeling of main gate and perimeter fence of Government House grounds main gate.

“Aiyedatiwa is becoming financially reckless and Ondo State people need explanations on how the resources for the state is being spent.”

Another Facebook user, Funmilayo Moyosoore said, “I learnt Aiyedatiwa approved Fence ( Wall of Jericho) construction for #774m …….. Who will curtail Lagidigba.”
