Tinuade Ladoja, the wife of former Oyo State Governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has passed away at the age of 71. She reportedly died on Monday morning following a brief illness.
Adeola Oloko, media aide to the ex-Governor, confirmed her passing, saying, “Yes, it is true. She has passed on. May her soul rest in peace.”
Tinuade Ladoja was a distinguished member of the Pastor-in-Council, the highest decision-making body of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).
In a Facebook post, the CCC Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, which she attended, also confirmed the sad news: “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. We submit to His will #farewell.”
Olukoya Benjamin, the head of the media unit of her parish, revealed that she had been taken to the hospital two days before her death.
“She still ate yesterday before passing away earlier this morning. She was a devoted member of the women’s council and was recently honored at the church’s 40th anniversary,” Benjamin said.
Victoria Omodudu, Chairperson of the Celestial Church Christ Women Council, paid tribute to Tinuade in a heartfelt message, reflecting on her visit just days before her passing: “Aunty mi, Egbon mi, this is beyond me. I saw you on Saturday, October 5, 2024. You were full of life. Jo o, Olorun.”
