Prominent activist Aisha Yusufu has boldly stated that Nigeria lacks a president, further criticizing the country’s judiciary as ineffective.
Aisha made the remarks during a podcast hosted by Channels TV presenter, Seun Okinbaloye, which was shared on X (formerly Twitter) a few hours ago.
In the one-minute, eleven-second video clip, Aisha expressed her frustration with the current economic challenges in Nigeria, bluntly asserting that “there is no President in Nigeria.”
Reflecting on her voting history, the activist revealed that she did not vote for former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan or Muhammadu Buhari, but instead supported Nuhu Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). However, Aisha withdrew her backing for Ribadu, stating that even if he were to run for a local councillorship position, she would not vote for him.
Her decision to withdraw support from Ribadu appears to be linked to his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu as the National Security Adviser, a move that Yusufu seems to disapprove of.
She boldly declared, “I, Aisha Yusufu, say this without hesitation—there is no President in Nigeria. Our judiciary is a joke, with many judicial officials being compromised, oppressed, and suppressed.”
Yusufu also criticized the government’s handling of fuel subsidy removal, contrasting it with Peter Obi’s approach. She noted, “Peter Obi proposed a 50% removal of subsidy but never made reckless statements without proper planning.”
When asked about the speculation that Peter Obi could serve as a deputy to Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aisha simply responded with a chuckle.
