PDP Attacks Aiyedatiwa For Disapproving Democracy Park for Campaign Use

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unleashed a scathing attack on the Aiyedatiwa administration following its outrageous decision to deny the party access to Democracy Park for its upcoming campaign flag-off scheduled for October 15, 2024.

The statement, issued by Ayo Fadaka, Special Adviser on Media/Publicity, condemned the administration for resorting to “cheap and petty” tactics—an unprecedented move that marks a new low in Ondo State’s political landscape.

“To claim we did not foresee this pathetic action would suggest a complete ignorance of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s disgraceful approach to governance,” the statement declared.

The party pointedly recalled that during the tenure of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, no political party was ever barred from using public spaces.

The PDP lamented that Ondo State is now burdened with a leadership far inferior to its predecessors, labelling Aiyedatiwa’s administration a “dismal failure” that needs urgent addressing.

Despite this petty roadblock, the PDP has announced that it will proceed with its campaign flag-off in Akure, expecting a robust turnout from supporters across the state and beyond.

The party expressed its regret for any inconvenience caused by the gathering but firmly placed the blame on the “irresponsible” actions of the Aiyedatiwa government.

“The flames of our resolve cannot be extinguished,” the statement asserted defiantly. “The PDP is primed for this election, and no amount of cheap, petty, or cowardly tactics will derail our momentum.”
