ANSIEC shares non-sensitive materials ahead of Anambra LG polls

The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, has begun distributing non-sensitive materials to all 21 local government areas in preparation for the upcoming council elections on September 28.

The distribution took place under strict security measures at the commission’s headquarters in Awka. Vehicles and electoral officers were seen collecting the materials for onward delivery.

Addressing the media, ANSIEC Chairman, Genevieve Osakwe, stated that the early distribution is aimed at ensuring a prompt start to the election process across all polling units in the state.

“The materials are being taken to the local government areas where they will be further distributed to the polling units on time for the election to commence in earnest on Saturday.

“The election will hold in all polling units across the state in a peaceful atmosphere.

“We urge the electorate to come out en masse without fear of intimidation to cast their votes.

“We promise to conduct a smooth, free, fair and credible election on Saturday,” she said.
