Army focuses on warrior techniques to achieve victory in combat operations

The Nigerian Army, NA, has emphasized the importance of improved discipline and adherence to warrior techniques to boost professionalism and secure victories in combat operations.

During a one-day seminar for junior and middle cadre on Warrior Ethos, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Terrorism, and Drug Substance Abuse, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, made this statement in Sokoto on Tuesday.

He was represented by Brigadier General Ibikunle Ajose, Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander of Northwest Joint Operation Hadarin Daji.

General Lagbaja stated that the Nigerian Army would continually review its strategies to enhance operations and defeat adversaries through both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches.

He asserted, “The Nigerian Army must rejuvenate the fighting spirit of troops through adequate regimentation, discipline, and critical thinking to achieve success.”

He commended the Army Headquarters Department of Transformation and Innovation for organizing the seminar, which aims to strengthen the fighting spirit of troops and provide strategies for managing post-traumatic stress disorder.

He urged participants to be innovative and dedicated to fulfilling the Nigerian Army’s constitutional mandate, praising the commitment of troops in addressing the nation’s security challenges.

In his welcome address, Major General Logun Abubakar, Chief of Transformation and Innovation at Army Headquarters, highlighted that the seminar was designed to reinvigorate warrior ethos among NA personnel in operational theaters.

He noted that the seminar on Warrior Ethos, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Terrorism, Drugs, and Substance Abuse is aligned with the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy of enhancing operational efficiency and learning from past mistakes.

General Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the strategic guidance that facilitated the seminar and encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve their capabilities.
