A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Philip Shaibu, has taken a swipe at Governor Godwin Obaseki, following the outcome of the just-concluded Edo governorship election.
In a chat with Arise TV on Monday, Shaibu mocked Obaseki, noting that he has never won an election without being assisted.
Shaibu said he felt vindicated after Obaseki lost his local government area to APC.
However, he said he held no grudge against the outgoing governor.
In his words: “I feel vindicated; even the governor couldn’t win his local government. I won my unit, ward, and local government.
“Where are the governor’s results? He has never won; we always assisted him.”
Apologize to Edo people
Shaibu also seized the opportunity to advise Obaseki to apologize to the people of the state.
He said that Obaseki has offended many people in the state, thus he needed to apologize to them and seek for their forgiveness.
“What is left now is for him to go back and start begging and apologizing to the people of Edo State.
“And he has a lot of them that he needs to go and apologize to,” Shaibu said.
