Civil servant forced into hiding after receiving death threat

Ogidi Godspower, a 40-year-old civil servant with the Delta State House of Assembly, has revealed that he was forced to flee his home in Ughelli North, Delta State, after receiving multiple threats to his life.

Speaking to Vanguard over the phone, he explained: “The threats started with unsettling messages from an unknown person, but they soon escalated.

“Fearing for my safety, I was left with no choice but to leave behind my injured elder son, wife, and two other children.”

“Despite reporting to local authorities, the situation escalated, leaving me with no choice but to abandon my possessions to ensure his safety, but I was told they were doing everything they could to investigate and find the person responsible.

“Since then, my family has found refuge with relatives, while authorities investigate the threats and search for clues about the assailant.”
