Kano: We arrested 32 suspects for looting during protest —NSCDC

The Kano Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended 32 individuals linked to recent shop looting in Sabon Gari, Fagge Local Government Area.

Corps Commandant Mohammad Falala reported that the suspects were captured in locations including Sabon Gari, Bata, France Road, and Murtala Mohammed Way.

NSCDC operatives, supported by vigilant citizens, also recovered stolen goods from suspects at Gyadi Gyadi, Kano.

These items, reportedly looted during protests on State Road and Iyaka Road, are now in NSCDC custody.

Commandant Falala urged the public to provide credible information to help identify and capture all those involved in the looting of both public and private properties.

He assured that increased patrols would be conducted in metropolitan areas in collaboration with other security agencies to address the disturbances caused by the protests.

He also emphasized that legal action would be taken against those found guilty following the investigations and called for community cooperation to restore peace and order in the state.

The command has already begun investigating the incidents.
