Ondo APC chieftain defects to NNPP, establishes UK Chapter

Renowned engineer Gabriel Sola Abe, a UK-based Nigerian from Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, has announced his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

At a press conference, Abe praised the NNPP for its commitment to people-oriented policies and democratic values, which he cited as key reasons for his party switch. He had recently completed his registration with the NNPP at his local ward in Akure South.

Abe criticized the APC for its perceived lack of democratic leadership and transparency, and also took aim at both the APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), labeling them as oppressors with a flawed understanding of governance.

He emphasized that his move to the NNPP was motivated by his desire for positive political change in Nigeria and a commitment to his community in Akure. Abe lauded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s national leader, for his notable achievements and leadership in Kano State and across Nigeria.

With a diaspora community exceeding 100,000, Abe and his supporters have pledged their full backing for the NNPP and its candidates in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.

Abe said the security challenge in Ondo State would come to an end “as we’re ready to give Hon. Gbenga Edema and his Deputy Barr. Rotimi Adeyemi all the foreign and local machineries needed to combat insecurity.”

“We have called on our fellow Nigerians to join the NNPP and rally behind Hon. Olugbenga Edema and Barr. (Dr.) Rotimi Adeyemi as the party’s Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates respectively. Our group believes in the vision and values of the NNPP and sees it as the harbinger of positive change and good governance in Ondo State,” he said.
