Staff of Ondo State House of Assembly have requested the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to visit their office and carry out on-the-spot assessment of decaying infrastructural facilities of the Assembly complex.

In multiple telephone conversations with Starnews NG Correspondent on Tuesday, the staff members requested the Governor to pay them a visit to assess the level of deteriorating infrastructural facilities in the assembly for the avoidance of doubt.

Furthermore, in fresh allegations, the staff members stated that the sum of 2.5million naira is allocated monthly to power the generator in the assembly complex, but sadly, the generating plant is not in use presently.

They further alleged that a bogus amount of money was approved in the past and present 2024 budget for training and retraining of staff, but according to them, no training or retraining of staff was carried out until date.

They similarly alleged that Governor Aiyedatiwa approved the sum of 25 million naira for housing allowance for staff of the assembly, but they claimed that only the sum of ten million naira was disbursed so far without any hope in sight for the remaining 15 million naira outstanding balance.

In a related development, some drivers of the State House of Assembly, who do not want to be identified, have also decried the pitiable working conditions they operate in the Assembly.

According to some drivers, they had no office of their own, as they stay in the garage to do their job.

They lamented that they were exposed to many dangers as the roof of the garage they stay generates a lot of heat during the dry season with leakages during the rainy season.

They further confided in Starnews NG Correspondent, that some vehicles in the complex have been grounded because they were abandoned lacking maintenance and services. Likewise, they explained that most of the vehicles are okay, but are currently grounded because they were not properly maintained and serviced regularly.
