Friends, family mourn as 25-year-old lady dies seven months after wedding

The sudden passing of 25-year-old Endurance Gunat has left her friends and family in deep mourning, just seven months after her wedding.

Endurance, who married on December 9, 2023, died on Sunday, July 6, 2024. Born on March 21, 1999, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear at the time of this report.

Her funeral is scheduled for Friday, July 12, with a service at COCIN Central Church, Bokkos, followed by burial at the family plot in Tangur, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Friends and family members of Endurance and her husband have taken to social media to express their grief, according to PUNCH.

Fuki Christian Daniel, a Facebook user, described Endurance as the wife of his friend, Gunat Japhet. He expressed his disbelief at her sudden death, stating, “It’s just like I’m dreaming. My friend’s wife is gone.”

Daniel noted that Gunat Japhet’s wedding occurred on December 9, just two weeks after his own wedding at the same church. He conveyed his deep sorrow over the incident, reflecting on the fragility of life. “I feel very sad. On a daily basis, a targeted age of young people keep going,” Daniel wrote, expressing concern over what seems to be a pattern of premature deaths among young people.

In his condolence message, Daniel turned to faith for solace, saying, “God, teach us to number our days as death is inevitable and a snitch. Rest in peace, dear. It is well when Jesus is involved.”

The deceased’s husband, Japhet, announced her death on Facebook three days ago with a brief message: “What a Black Sunday!”
