Adeleke Suspends Aide, warns Transport Officials Against Violence

Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a stern warning to transport workers in Osun State, urging them to avoid actions that could lead to violence and lawlessness.

The Governor also announced the immediate suspension of the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi, pending the outcome of an investigation led by the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye.

In a statement released today in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke instructed the Commissioner for Transportation to convene a reconciliatory meeting with all factions within the transport sector.

“The officials and their members should stop distracting the people of Osun from the numerous ongoing projects and the delivery of good governance.

“This administration will not tolerate lawlessness and acts of violence. We must not, and cannot, return to the era of the previous administration. Our government has zero tolerance for violence.

“Any issues within transport management must be resolved through due process. Internally Generated Revenue in Osun State is strictly regulated within a framework of accountability and transparency that cannot be compromised.

“Our government has automated revenue collection and integrated multiple revenue points into a single billing process. Our IGR has increased due to our innovations and zero tolerance for revenue leakages. Revenue diversion is a thing of the past in Osun State.

“The Commissioner for Transportation will engage with transport officials to reconcile all financial records. Any transport official who engages in violence will face the full wrath of the law,” the Governor stated.
