EURO 2024

-Italy have failed to reach the Quarter-Final of a UEFA European Championship Finals for the first time since 2004 (eliminated at the Group stage in that case).

-Yann Sommer has kept his first clean sheet at EURO 2024.
He only had to make one save against Italy.

-Granit Xhaka has played every single minute for Switzerland so far at EURO 2024. He has been dispossessed once.

-Switzerland beat Italy for the first time in the 21st century, ending an a run of 11 games without a win against them.

-Switzerland are unbeaten within 90 minutes in the last seven games at the UEFA European Championship finals (W3 D4 – 1 win on penalties, 1 loss on penalties) which is their longest such run.

-Italy, the defending champion has been knocked out in the same round at each of the last three EUROs:

LATEST TRANSFER RUMOURS

-Manchester United made contact with Matthijs de Ligt’s camp this week. De Ligt, one of the options being considered for centre back position — as again including Jarred Branthwaite.
Bayern could sell de Ligt this summer as they work to sign Jonathan Tah after Ito, Ten Hag knows him well.

-The future of Anthony Gordon appears to be uncertain until the PSR issue is solved. Liverpool are understood to admire Anthony Gordon.

-West Ham have made contact with Metz over signing Georges Mikautadze (23).

-PSG have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon (23).

-West Ham’s €25m bid for Morten Frendrup was rejected by Genoa. The Italian club says the Danish midfielder isn’t for sale unless a big offer comes in.

-The Manuel Locatelli’s link to Marseille is real! Locatelli is open to leaving Juventus and wants to play under Roberto De Zerbi again. Talks between Marseille and Juventus will begin in the next few weeks.

-Fabián Ruiz (28) could leave PSG this summer with the club keen to profit from his performances at the Euros.

-Chelsea have discussed the possibility of including Nicolas Jackson in a deal to acquire Alexander Isak, whose valuation exceeds £100 million, making a cash-only purchase unfeasible for Chelsea.

-Sergiño Dest joins PSV on a permanent transfer. Contract until 2028. According to reports, Barca did not receive any money for his transfer but the club will receive a certain % if there is a future sale.

-Archie Gray is set for a medical at Brentford after agreeing to join from Leeds for £35m. Despite interest from top clubs, Brentford is expected to complete the deal for the 18-year-old midfielder.

-Three Saudi Arabian clubs are strongly interested in Newcastle center forward Callum Wilson.

-Real Madrid have been in contact with Lille. They are working on Leny Yoro’s signing.

-FC Barcelona wants the buyout clause for Mikayil Faye to be around €30/32M.

-Monza dreams of signing Szczesny from Juventus contacts made with the goalkeeper, who would like to stay in Italy.

-Manchester United have started talks with Matthijs de Ligt’s representatives. They’re gathering more information about the 24-year-old, who is willing to leave Bayern Munich for the right offer. De Ligt is open to joining Man United to secure a more prominent role as a central defender. However, there have been no direct negotiations between the clubs so far.

-Nottingham Forest’s Moussa Niakhaté (28) has completed a medical head of a €31m move to Lyon.

-Chelsea have discussed the possibility of including Nicolas Jackson in a deal for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, but it’s not likely at this stage because Jackson is still considered an important player by Chelsea.
