Peter Obi excited over Nigerian architect honoured in Canada with a community park name

A former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated Emeka Nnadi, a Nigerian architect and community leader, on his recognition in Canada for his outstanding contributions to community development and societal growth.

Obi made this known in a statement on his social media account on Sunday.

Emeka Nnadi was honoured with a community park named after him in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater neighbourhood, Canada, for his remarkable achievements.

Obi praised Nnadi’s transformation of the Bridgwater area from farmland to thriving neighbourhoods, demonstrating the impact of committed leadership on national development.

He encouraged Nnadi and other Nigerians in the diaspora to continue being ambassadors of Nigeria and contribute to the country’s growth, emphasizing the potential of Nigeria’s youths to drive development with the right leadership.

He wrote, “I recently read an inspiring story about a Canadian-based Nigerian, renowned architect and community leader, Emeka Nnadi, who had a community park named after him in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater, Canada, due to his immense contributions to community development and societal growth.

“According to reports, the renowned Nigerian architect helped to develop the Bridgwater area, by transforming what in 2006 was roughly 600 hectares of provincially owned farmland into multiple neighbourhoods with thousands of homes.

This is why I have consistently maintained that committed leadership, which will build a productive nation for our teeming youths, remains critical for national development.

“With the very diverse array of skills, talents and energy among the youths, we have all it takes to position our dear nation on the path of development, given the right leadership.

“I congratulate Emeka Nnadi for his outstanding contribution to community development in Canada, which earned him this recognition.

“I encourage him, and other Nigerians in the diaspora, to remain good ambassadors of our dear nation, and continue to contribute to our national development, as we build the New Nigeria which is possible.
