I still have cancer; it is incurable —Farooq Oreagba

Farooq Oreagba, the managing director of NG Clearing Limited, bravely shared in a recent interview that he has been battling an incurable form of bone cancer for the past decade. Speaking on the Arise TV Morning Show, Mr. Oreagba revealed that his diagnosis came in February 2014, followed by a transplant later that year and rigorous chemotherapy for eight years, which he eventually stopped due to its physical toll.

Despite the challenges posed by his health condition, Mr. Oreagba has refocused his priorities, placing his family at the forefront given the uncertainty of his prognosis. He spoke fondly of his enduring involvement with the Ojude Oba festival over the past 15 years, underscoring its evolving significance in his life.

Acknowledging the financial strain of his ongoing medical treatments, Mr. Oreagba emphasized the crucial role of his career in supporting his health needs. He candidly discussed how his social circle had significantly dwindled since his diagnosis, reflecting on the profound impact on his personal relationships over time.

During the interview, Mr. Oreagba shared the deeply personal stories behind his tattoos, each one carrying a poignant message about seizing the day and cherishing life’s moments. Born in Ijebu Ode, Nigeria, in 1966, he pursued his education in the United Kingdom, obtaining degrees in Engineering Studies and Business & Finance.
