The Oyo Police Command on Tuesday brought four individuals before the Mapo Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan on charges of disturbing the peace and unlawful assembly.
The accused are Sodik Adekola, 30; Bolaji Qudri, 20; Nurani Abdulkarim, 31; and Habib Taofeek, 25.
Presiding Magistrate O.O. Latunji granted bail to each suspect, setting the amount at N100,000 with one reliable surety in the same amount.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to charges of conduct likely to breach public peace and attempted felony.
Magistrate Latunji scheduled the trial for June 20.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Oluseye Akinola, told the court that the defendants committed the crime on June 3 at the Ojaba market in Ibadan.
Mr Akinola further said Messrs Adekola, Qudri, Abdulkarim and Taofeek were apprehended after gathering unlawfully, smoking illicit substances and holding different dangerous objects.
He said the defendants had in their possession machetes, broken bottles and sticks.
