A Kano State High Court has ordered the police to evict deposed Emir Ado Bayero from the Nasarawa royal residence, where he has been living.
The court has also directed Aminu Bayero to stop presenting himself as the Emir of Kano.
Meanwhile, Emir Muhammad Sanusi has been instructed to take up residence in the main Kano palace.
The deposed Emir Ado Bayero held his first ceremonial sitting on Monday at the Nasarawa Mini Palace, where he has been staying since returning to the ancient city on Saturday.
This event occurred amid ongoing legal disputes following his dethronement.
Dressed in full royal regalia, Aminu Ado Bayero welcomed supporters and several district heads who paid him homage at the Nasarawa Mini Palace, signaling that he still considers himself the legitimate Emir of Kano.
The controversy intensified as the Kano State Government reinstated Muhammad Sanusi II, resulting in an unprecedented situation where two individuals claim the title of Emir of Kano.
The reinstated Emir, Muhammad Sanusi II, has been holding ceremonial sittings at the main palace. So far, 40 out of the 65 district heads in the state have paid him homage.
The power struggle between Sanusi and Bayero over the royal stool has plunged the state into controversy.
This turmoil began after State Governor Abba Yusuf signed the Kano State Emirates Council Law on Thursday, followed by the issuance of a reappointment letter to Sanusi on Friday.
The governor also mandated that the five emirs affected by the new law, including Bayero, vacate their palaces within 48 hours.
