How 7500 Projects were added To 2024 Budget During Appropriation

Checks from a document emanating from Nigeria’s budget office has revealed how about 7,500 projects were added to the 2024 National Budget during appropriation.

According to findings, 2510 projects were added to the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security during appropriation while 735 were added to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The checks further show that the budget of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation was padded with 544 projects while the Ministry of Labour and Employment had about 532 added to its budget through the backdoor.

Also, the Ministry of Education has about 529 extra projects added to its original budget during appropriation, while the Ministry of Water Resources was padded with 495 projects.

Similarly, the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare has 435 extra projects added to its budget.

Likewise, additional 263 projects were added to the budget of the Ministry of Works, while the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment has 237 projects.

On its part, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was padded with 210 additional projects, while the Ministry of Power has 142 with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development 98.
