UNILORIN expels 19 students for exams malpractice, admission racketeering

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled 19 students due to their engagement in various misconducts.

These infractions included theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering, extortion, assault, and admission racketeering.

According to Kunle Akogun, the varsity’s director of corporate affairs, six final-year students were among those expelled, highlighting the severity of the actions taken against the offenders.

“The expulsion or rustication of the affected students followed the recommendations of the student’s disciplinary committee at its 220th/221st meeting,’’ he stated.

The majority of the students expelled were either in their first year, second, third, or fourth year of school.

While some students were expelled, others were rusticated either for one academic session or one semester.
