The Kwara State Government has warned Principals of Senior Secondary Schools across the State against illegal charges for National Examination Council (NECO) registration from prospective students that will write the 2024 examinations.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, gave the warning during a floating exercise which marked the commencement of the registration for 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The Commissioner said the state government would not tolerate additional charges from any principal apart from the approved fee for NECO fixed by the Ministry.
Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu urged the principals to desist from all acts that can dent the image of the government, noting that violators would face the full wrath of the law.
She also cautioned them against aiding and abetting examination malpractices, adding that the present administration has zero tolerance for examination malpractice.
Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu appreciated the efforts of the principals in ensuring good working relationships with the State Ministry to enhance education standards in the State.
In his own remarks, the President of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools in Kwara State, Comrade Usman Abdullahi, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for revamping the education sector in the State through the rehabilitation and construction of schools across the three senatorial districts.
He maintained that the teachers will justify the confidence reposed in them by being up and doing in discharging their constitutional duties.
