Akoko Bye-Election: Akingboye Drums Support for Bada, Warns Against Rigging

By Miracle Ogunde

A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, popularly known as (OBA, has canvassed support for Hon. Olalekan Bada, the PDP candidate in the Saturday Bye-Election in Akoko North East and North West Federal Constituency.

Akingboye also called on the good people of Akoko North East and North West to come out en masse to cast their votes for the PDP candidate.

Speaking during the grand finale of the party’s campaign rally in Ikare today, Akingboye said the party had ensured adequate mobilisation and preparation for Bada’s victory through organised grassroots campaign ahead of the polls, saying the PDP candidate possessed the best qualities to represent the Federal Constituency at the National Assembly so that the people could enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He, however, called INEC to allow the will of the people to prevail, while warning against the use of force, intimidation or suppression of voters, either by security agencies or hoodlums, noting that such act would be resisted by the people who have unanimously resolved to vote for the PDP candidate.

Starnews NG reports that Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA) has been consistently contesting the Ondo governorship race on the platform of the PDP since 2003, and has since remained a loyal and committed leader of the party.

He urged his supporters not to be discouraged by the political intrigues that have altered the 2020 race towards the primary election, urging them to ignore those peddling rumours that he is not qualified to contest, even as he stated that his decision to join the Ondo 2024 governorship race is the burning desire to change the political narratives in the state.

He assures that he would prioritise good governance, rescue the downtrodden and bring succour to the people, while imploring them to embrace the PDP and vote for all its candidates in the ensuing elections.

Akingboye further assures that he is adequately prepared, qualified and experienced to pick the PDP ticket to turn Ondo State around.
