Lagos Award Winning Police Officer, Ajagbusi bags Master Degree In Criminology

A Sergent with the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, Ajagbusi Taofik, has last week made the list of Master Degree graduates at the 54th Convocation Ceremonies of University Of Lagos, popularly known as UNILAG where he bagged Master in Criminology.

Recall that Ajagbasi was awarded for Service Excellence in 2017 by Former Governor Akinwumi Ambode led administration in Lagos State on the account of outstanding dedication to duty.

Starnews NG reports that his journey to academic excellence began years back when he gained admission to study Economics/Political science at College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and later proceeded to University of Lagos, UNILAG where he bagged BSc in Public Administration and exhibited unwavering dedication and a thirst for knowledge, consistently and thereby furthered his academic excellence as he put in for Master Degree in Criminology at the same citadel of learning.

Speaking with the newsmen, the award winning Police officer expressed profound happiness over the completeness of his Master Degree program. He said the success wasn’t a light journey, that the route was roughed and untied but he was able to be where he is today with the favour of God.

Ajagbusi stressed that destiny is not created by the shoes one wears but by the steps taken in life. He congratulated himself, saying “it’s not easy but with hard work, dedication and determination, God did it”, Alhamudililah he added.

He however enjoined workers both private and public, especially Police officers not to limit their academic certificate to what they were employed with. He said they should be able to carve out a niche for themselves in their respective offices.

The convocation which was held at the J. F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium on Thursday, January 18, 2024 had in attendance, The Visitor of the institution, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, the executive governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among other states governor present or represented.

Meanwhile, the Vice chancellor, UNILAG professor Folasade Ogunsola congratulated the graduated students, urging them to be good example to the society and solve problems

“As you move to the outside world, I want you to see the problems of our country Nigeria as opportunities calling for creative solutions rather than disasters from which to run to richer climes and greener pastures. I encourage you to dream big to be innovators, you can be anything you want!

“Finally, it is your responsibility to continue to exhibit the qualities of character and knowledge,” she added
