The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service said it generated a daily revenue collection of N11.3 billion on Thursday, surpassing the highest daily collection record of N10 billion achieved on August 3, 2023.
Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba, Customs Area Controller of the command, in a statement by Public Relations Office Abubakar Usman, described the collection as a result of teamwork, system audit, compliance, and zero compromise.
Jaiyeoba, who urged officers of the command to sustain the tempo of hard work, said the command had focused more on its mandate and collected N135 billion for October, the highest monthly collection in its history.
“We are very optimistic about meeting our target for the year. Even though, from the initial part of the year, it was not what was expected, from what we have been recording in the last two months, I am very optimistic that we will be able to get there,” he said.
