Renowned Hausa drama performer, Usman Baba Pategi, widely recognized as Samanja, has passed away.
His demise occurred in the early hours of Sunday at a private medical facility in Kaduna State, following an extended period of illness.
Prior to his career in Kannywood, Samanja dedicated his service to the Nigerian Army, later transitioning to employment at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Kaduna upon retirement.
At the age of 84, Samanja, survived by two spouses and twelve offspring, bid farewell.
A statement from his son, Mohammad Usman, reveals that the funeral prayer for the late actor will take place at the Kabala Costain mosque in Kaduna, adhering to Islamic traditions.
