—Phrank Shaibu talks tough, makes fresh shocking revelations about Tinubu’s academic records
—Says Atiku will present everything in court
An aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, said documents released by Chicago State University, alongside President Bola Tinubu’s academic records, indicate Nigeria’s leader submitted a fake certificate to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, in a statement, said: “The samples of redacted certificates handed to us by CSU show that the one submitted to INEC by Tinubu was indeed a forgery, and this will be made known during the deposition, which will be done under oath.”
But a former National Vice Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Hilliard Eta, downplayed the matter, saying there is no reason to worry.
In a chat with The Guardian, he affirmed: “There is absolutely no cause for alarm. Nothing is going to happen. They have not brought any revelation with which they are going to approach the Supreme Court that is so impactful, that the court would, now, allow for fresh evidence.
“There is absolutely nothing to fear. What is it that would make for the President to be removed? The certificate released to them is the same certificate the President submitted to INEC. So, what is it that we are afraid of?”
Shaibu, who noted that the documents showed the process of Tinubu’s admission into CSU was fraudulent, said: “The transcript from Southwest College (now Richard Daley College), which Tinubu used in gaining admission into CSU, states clearly that Tinubu was a female. So, how did Tinubu transform into a man at a time when gender altering surgeries did not exist? The social security number and the dates on the transcript even show that there is more than meets the eye.”
According to him, Tinubu declared in his admission documents that he attended Government College, Lagos, and presented a 1970 GCE A-level result with grades E in Chemistry and Biology and an F in Physics.
He said: “This is a new revelation, given the fact that he had earlier claimed he attended Government College, Ibadan, until some students of the school denied knowing him. But even more worrisome is the fact that Government College, Lagos, was established in 1974. So, did Tinubu attend the school in anticipation before it was founded in 1974?
“What makes the entire incident laughable is that Festus Keyamo, one of Tinubu’s servile lackeys, claimed on live television during electioneering that Tinubu never attended school but was rather homeschooled.”
He added: “Tinubu has also been claiming that he was born on March 29, 1952, and even celebrated his 70th birthday, last year, and held a colloquium in his honour. But the date of birth listed on his CSU transcript states that he was born on March 29, 1954.”
Also, Farooq Kperogi, a professor of journalism and emerging media at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, United States, yesterday, disclosed what he called ‘six non-partisan tidbits’ after poring over the documents.
Part of Kperogi’s observations read: “The Bola A. Tinubu who applied to Southwest College for an associate degree in 1975 claimed to have attended Government College, Lagos, and presented a 1970 GCE A-level result with grades E in Chemistry and Biology and an F in Physics. The problem is that Government College, Lagos, was established in 1974. So, there’s a chronological conundrum there, which signposts forgery.
“The GCE A-level result also shows that ‘Bola A. Tinubu’ took the exam as an HSC student, which used to be a two-year study after five years of secondary school education. In other words, the owner of the certificate must have graduated from secondary school, at least, in 1968.”
The author and activist said: “It’s not clear at the moment if the GCE A-level result is fake or authentic—or if it belongs to the man we know today as President Bola A. Tinubu. My hunch is that it doesn’t belong to him. But this will become clear in the coming days.
“Tinubu tells the world that he was born on March 29, 1952, but the birthday recorded in his CSU transcript says he was born on March 29, 1954. The space for birthday in the Southwest College transcript he submitted to CSU is blank. So is the record of his secondary school education. These facts added to my previous suspicion that the transcript was probably fake.”
“If he was born in 1954, it means he was 14 years old when he graduated from high school.”
Kperogi added what he termed a ‘bonus’, saying: Tinubu’s last name was misspelled in a few of the CSU documents. I thought the ‘THUBV’ misspelling in his final graduation record was bad enough until I saw ‘Tinububu’ in one of the documents. Bubu, remember, is Buhari’s nickname among a vast swath of Nigerians. Make of that what you will.”
Meanwhile, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), called on the Supreme Court of Nigeria to disqualify Tinubu or compel him to resign over alleged identity theft and certificate forgery.
National coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, said the apex court has a duty to uphold justice and protect integrity of the electoral process and democratic values of Nigeria.
