The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has, while reacting to the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s verdict, called for peace from the citizens of Kano State.
The tribunal judgment handed down on Wednesday, September 20, sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and declared Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the APC as the duly elected governor of the state.
Reacting, Ganduje, in an address to the press at his Abuja residence, urged the people of Kano to maintain tranquillity. He assured them that prosperity would once again grace their businesses.
Ganduje was accompanied by Gawuna and former state governor Senator Kabir Gaya.
In his response, Gawuna, the APC candidate endorsed as the winner by the tribunal, pledged to carry forward the legacy of the previous administration led by Ganduje, during which he served as deputy governor. He also encouraged the populace to conduct their work and business affairs peacefully, deeming the judgment as the divine will of “Allah.”
