In a significant political development, Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South senatorial district, have expressed their determination to remove Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from office in Imo State.
The duo made their intentions clear during the launch of the Imo governorship campaign for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Tony Ejiogu.
Soludo and Abaribe have voiced their commitment to ending insecurity and ineffective governance in Imo State.
They emphasized that Imo remains a stronghold of APGA and advocated for its restoration as such.
Soludo, represented by his deputy Onyekachukwu Ibezim, stressed the need to safeguard the electoral process and reiterated their successful efforts in other states.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe highlighted the importance of not just casting votes but also protecting them.
He urged the people of Imo to ensure their votes are counted and guarded at every stage of the electoral process, from polling units to the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Abaribe passionately urged citizens to vote for APGA, emphasizing that it would usher in good governance.
Sylvester Okenwa, the National Chairman of APGA, underscored the historical importance of Imo State for APGA. He reminded the audience that APGA had previously achieved victory in the state in past elections.
Okenwa emphasized the significance of protecting votes to prevent their manipulation and theft.
Tony Ejiogu, the APGA governorship candidate, outlined his agenda for rebuilding the state.
He expressed his primary focus on restoring security and making communities safe.
Ejiogu highlighted the alarming rise in violent attacks, stressing that the safety of the people was paramount.
He also emphasized the need to address food insecurity and ensure that the state’s agricultural potential is fully harnessed.
The determination of key political figures like Soludo, Abaribe, and Ejiogu to bring about positive change in Imo State’s governance is clear.
Their commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and addressing pressing issues such as insecurity and food scarcity reflects the aspirations of the people. As the November 11 governorship election approaches, all eyes are on the potential transformation that these leaders aim to bring to Imo State.
