According to VANGUARD newspaper, Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has confidently asserted that Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, will soon emerge as the President of Nigeria.
Abure made this assertion while addressing a group of Nigerians in the United States during his tour of the country.
Peter Obi, who secured the third position in the presidential election held in February, along with his party, is challenging the election results. They are seeking to invalidate the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abure, who is currently on a tour of the United Kingdom and the US, indicated that the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) is anticipated to be delivered on or before September 16.
Highlighting Peter Obi’s significant role in the 2023 general election, Abure stated, “Following Peter Obi’s participation in the 2023 general election, we changed the political narratives in Nigeria. We gave them a run for their money.” He continued, “They have murdered sleep and they will sleep no more. They have stolen what is not for them and they will not sleep until we recover it all.”
