The Presidential Election Petitions Court, located in Abuja, has invalidated a widely circulated date on social media that was claimed to be the scheduled judgment date for the ongoing petitions contesting the election of President Bola Tinubu.
This follows reports, primarily propagated on social media platforms, asserting that the PEPC had fixed September 16, 2023, as the day for delivering the judgment on the cases involving Peter Obi, the Labour party, Bola Tinubu, INEC, Shettima, and the APC. In response to these claims, Barrister Josephine J. Ekperobe, the Secretary of the PEPC panel, has discredited the viral post. In reply to an inquiry from Whistler, the official stated, “No date yet.”
It’s worth noting that subsequent to the conclusion of the presentation of final written arguments by the involved parties in the lawsuit, the five-member tribunal led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsamani reserved the judgment and communicated that the date for announcing the verdict would be conveyed to the concerned parties and their legal representatives.
