Banditry: Katsina Govt Bans Motorcycles, Tricycles in 19 LGAs

 

 

The Katsina State Government has, to enhance security in the state, banned the use of commercial motorcycles and tricycles in the night in 19 local government areas.

Nasiru Mu’azu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement on Sunday, explained that the ban is with effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to the statement, the order affects local government areas fully affected by banditry and other related crimes.

“Among them (local government areas) are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari and Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia,” the statement read.

He explained that members of the public should understand that the purpose of the order is to restore permanent peace in the affected areas being tortured by the bandits.
