There are three components of a man — the Spirit, Body and Soul but this message is limited on just two of them which are- the Body and Spirit.
The Spirit: It is the image of God – Genesis 1 vs 27
The Body: It is the physical man – Genesis 2 vs 5-7
The Soul – It’s the window between our body and our spirit. It our conscience where our emotions come from. It can also be seen as our sense of reasons.
What are the Characteristics of the Spirit Man
1. It is an image of God (Gen 1 vs 27)
2. The Spirit Man relates with God and get direct inspiration (Job 32 vs 8
3. The Spirit Man returns unto God after death (Eccl 12 vs 7) u
4. It is the Spirit Man that relates with our Physical Man and bear witness that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16)
5. The Spirit man communes with God and knows the things of God. ( Ist Corinthians 2:11)
6. It does not need food nor water because it has no flesh or bone (Luke 24 vs 39).
7. The Spirit man is righteous (Romans 8:10)
8. It is our spirit man that lives inside our body. It is another “you” inside “you”, meaning yourself inside yourself and he is the one that lives in our body representing God’s temple which was explained by the book of (1st Corinthians 6:19-20).
Characteristics of the Physical Man
1.This is made up of the dust of the earth – your flesh and bones. (Genesis 2:5-7)
2. It needs food and he can’t survive without eating.
3. He loves materials things. The Spirit Man does not.
4. It is our physical man that sins because he loves the worldly things like sex, drinks, cloth, vehicles, houses, and so many worldly things and as such, the physical man is vulnerable to sin.
5. While the Spirit man returns to God after death, the physical man returns to dust after death. (Psalm 146: 3-4).
Reasons our Spirit Man receives from God in the Spirit realm and it does not manifest.
Mark 11:24 says: “Therefore I say unto you, What things whatsoever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
The word of God says when we pray and desire something, we should believe that we have received them and that we would have them.
Two different keywords here-above in the passage. “Receiving and Having”. Like we said above, it is our spirit man that communes with God and that is why it is easier to get anything (receives) from God in the spirit. But in the other hand, it is our physical man that communes with the spirit man, and he is the one that would collect (have) from the Spirit man what he has received from God. Before you can have the manifestation of anything physically, it must have been received from God by the Spirit man spiritually, while the Spirt man would hand it over to the physical man who would have it, thus becoming a physical manifestation.
But when you don’t understand the “you” inside “you” i.e when your physical man doesn’t understand your spirit man which receives from God and hand it over to the physical man for manifestation, the physical manifestation of such good things would only remain in the dream. One of the major reasons you cannot have many things received from God by the spirit man in your dream is because you cannot understand the ‘you’ inside ‘you’. That’s why many good dreams never come to pass.
And this is also why fasting is incorporated to kill our physical man and empowers the Spirit man. Many would have fasted less if they allow the Spirit man to control 70% of their lives.
Way Out
1. Always awake your spirit man and reduce your physical man – you can do this by loving what the spirit man loves and hates what your physical man like.
2. Simply allow your Spirit Man to control 70% of your life instead of allowing the physical man to control 70% of your life.
3. Holiness is Key.
4. Eat more of spiritual foods than physical foods – listen to more of spiritual songs, read the Bible every day, listen to sermons preached by men of God, read more of spiritual books and messages, watch more of Godly videos, commune daily with God in prayer, and in praise and worship.
5. You should create time for fasting and prayer anytime your physical man is growing too strong.
6. Obey your spirit man and disobey your physical man often.
7. Satisfy your Spirit man more than the physical man always
Above all, you must be born again.
Say: Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Forgive me. (confess your sin) I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour, come into my life and remain there forever. Amen.
