Bitire, Banji Okunomo, other party chieftains dump PDP in Ondo

Hon. Solomon Bitire, former Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Council in Ondo State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dumped the opposition party.

Bitire, who is also a former party chairman of the PDP in Okitipupa Local Government on Sunday resigned his membership from the party in a letter addressed to his ward chairman in Ode Erinje, Okitipupa local government of Ondo State.

In a telephone interview with Starnews Nigeria on Monday, Bitire confirmed his resignation from the PDP. He promised to communicate his next line of action after he is done consulting all his followers.

Similarly, Starnews Nigeria gathered on Monday morning that Hon. Banji Okunomo, a former governorship aspirant of the PDP in Ondo State, and his political allies, Mr Jossy Ehinmore, and Hon. Olorunwa Malo, had also dumped the opposition PDP in a separate resignation letter the trio addressed to their various ward chairmen in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Starnews Nigeria had reported four days ago that the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state is on the verge of collapse as the mass defection of PDP stalwarts and their teeming supporters looms over the mass electoral failure recorded in the February 25, 2023, presidential and National Assembly elections.
