Group commends Senator Tofowomo for rebuilding Okitipupa police station

A group of youths in Ondo South under the aegis of Ondo South Advancement and Welfare Consultative Association (OSAWA), has commended Sen Nicholas Tofowomo, the lawmaker representing the Senatorial District at the Senate over the newly-reconstructed Okitipupa Divisional Police Headquarters in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the project was constructed and inaugurated on Thursday at the cost of N12 million by the Senator.

Starnews Nigeria recalls that the police station, Okitipupa local government secretariat and other government property were set ablaze on October 22, 2020, by irate youths during a protest against police brutality, popularly known as #EndSARS.

Tofowomo, after ascertaining the level of destruction of the property, promised to rebuild the police station, which he started last year.

While commending the Senator through a statement signed and issued by Ogungbemi Adeyemi, (Publicity Secretary) and Juwon Aworetan, the group President, OSAWA said:

“As an organization, we can not but appreciate the thoughtful and helpful decision of the distinguished Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District for rebuilding the Police Headquarters at Okitipupa. That’s a pointer to the fact that we still have humanists with the love of the masses at heart”, he opined.

“The President, Com. Ade-Aworetan Oluwajuwon Adejare however admonished the good citizens of Ondo South especially the privileged few to use their God-given resources to give Ondo South the needed global prominence.

“That singular act is a call to other sons and daughters of Ondo South with or without politics to put humanity above whatever pecunious interests they have and put the interests of the masses above theirs. We enjoin others to emulate these unprecedented gestures as Ondo South can be great if all hands are on deck”, he advised.
