Fuel Scarcity: Accident Claims One In Akure

An accident has claimed the life of a Motorcyclist in Akure, on Sunday Afternoon.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the accident happened at old Custom Junction, Ondo Road, Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

The queue for fuel at AA Petrol Station on one side of Ondo Road in Akure has forced road users to be using one way.

The incident occurred when yet be identified Motorcyclist popular known as Okada Rider coming out from the sharp bend of Ajipowo junction was knocked down by an oncoming car from Ondo Road at a very high speed.

Starnews Nigeria gathered that the car owner couldn’t apply brake due to overspeeding, and as such, he hit the Motorcyclist and ran away from the scene.

Starnews Official at the scene of the accident reports that there have been traffic jams on major roads in Akure because of the fuel scarcity in the country in which this Old Custom Junction is one of them.

Eyewitness account said the accident was caused due to overspeeding by the Lexus Car Owner who is presently at large.

The operatives of the Nigerian police have taken the corpse of the deceased to the morgue.
