Suspected Fraudsters Arrested With Snake In Owerri

Three suspected fraudsters have been arrested in Owerri with a live snake.

The snake was found in a travelling box that they took to a hotel in the Imo State capital.

According to a social media user, Catherine Nwachukwu, the suspects were apprehended by vigilantes, after they were reported to the hotel manager by her mum, who was the guardian of the boy, they were demanding the sum of N250,000 from.

She said, “The Yahoo boys were lodging at a hotel close to our family house and they started asking him (her cousin) for the sum of N250,000. One of our neighbours asked him to alert my mum. He did and they reported to the hotel manager who was around.

They dragged the boys out and called the vigilantes around. They took them away but the boys left a bag in the hotel room and the bag was locked. They had to break the bag and unfortunately, they found a python inside the bag and people were like, these guys are ritualists, they are looking for people they can talk to and put juju on them and collect their ATM (cards) and money.”

The suspects have reportedly been handed over to the police.
