The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State has appealed to party leaders and stakeholders in the state to pursue peace and unity among themselves as the 2023 general election beckons.
Starnews Nigeria reports that this was the focal point of Stakeholders led by Elder Amos Fadope, State Vice-chairman (South) of the PDP during a Senatorial meeting held on Monday, December 27, 2021 in Okitipupa town, Ondo State.
In a statement by Deaconess Funmilola Ademoyegun, PDP Senatorial Secretary in Ondo South, Fadope called for unity and said that it is the only route to win the 2023 general election.
“This meeting is like a reunion of our members and leaders of our party. I use this occasion to call for unity of purpose. Our leaders and members should please come together to have one indivisible party in Ondo South. This is the only route to win the 2023 general election, not only in Ondo South but across the State,” Fadope said.
Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South at the Senate, and Hon. Kolade Akinjo representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency gave accounts of their stewardship when they addressed the gathering.
Other leaders such as Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, Prince Ola John Mafo, Chief Tunde Akindehin, Senator Omololu Meroyi, Senator Yele Omogunwa who addressed the meeting also preached unity as the only strategy to reposition the PDP ahead of the 2023 election.
The meeting was attended by Hon. Mike Omogbehin, Hon Oladipupo Ajani, Chief Oyedele Ibini, Chief Mrs. Esther Ebiwonjumi, Engr. Raphael Ademulegun, Hon Felix Olatunde, Mrs. Banke Sutton, Hon. Sola Ebiwonjumi, Hon. Niyi Adebusoye, Hon. Nasiru Akinromade, Solomon Tunyan, Suffy Uguoji, Benson Amuwa, Moses Awofade, George Die, Mrs. Jeti Adesida, among others.
The leaders resolved that all members who rejoined the party from APC and ZLP should be given equal opportunities and must not be discriminated.
