I hope Governor Seyi Makinde would not embark on a fruitless reconciliation journey soon? You may have to research and find out how PDP in control of five states in the South West at a time is now left with one state.

For the record, the alarm bells were rung before Ondo gubernatorial election last year about the impending defeat of our great party. Unfortunately, many of us were called names. Today, the reality is staring us all in the face. Is the party today not towing the same destructive path in the South West?

The Seyi Makinde group is so desperate to have a full grip of the party structure across the South West. Good ambition. Unfortunately, it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to convince or pacify members of the other groups to tow party lines during the impending interparty elections.

Finally, may I ask if the recent and current numerous actions and inactions of our number one party leader in the South West are uniting, building or destroying PDP in the region? What benefit will the governor get for nursing a divided PDP ahead of the 2023 general election?

Time will tell, history will never forget and posterity will judge. I come in peace.

Sola Oyepitan is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) from Ondo State.
