INEC suspends voters’ registration in Niger

THE Independent National Electoral Commission has temporarily suspended the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise in Niger State.

The state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Samuel Egwu, said this in Minna on Tuesday.

He said, “The first quarter of the registration exercise which commenced on June 28 with online registration will be temporarily suspended from September 21 till October 3, 2021.”

Egwu added that the commission would display the register for those who have registered in the first quarter to have the opportunity to check for mistakes in their bio-data and other claims and objections.

“The display will take place at the Niger state INEC Headquarters, Minna, the state capital and the 25 Local government area offices.” he added
