Insecurity-; Tackling insecurity is beyond arms and ammunition, it requires political will – Mimiko

Former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has said that the Federal government needed political will to tackle insecurity ravaging the country.

Mimiko in his Eid el fitr message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, John Paul Akinduro, said that ” tackling insecurity is beyond arms and ammunition, it requires political will.

“Our government must address the deepening inequality, mass poverty, high level of illiteracy and above all, restructure the existing system to give room for equitable distribution of resources.”

Mimiko tasked government to prioritize security of lives and property of all Nigerians where they live, work and play

He however rejoiced with the Muslim faithful all over the country as they celebrate the 2021 Eid el fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The former governor admonished every Muslim to share with the needy and show love towards people of other faith as they celebrate this year’s Eid.

He equally advised Nigerians to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to security agents nearest to them.
